Brief But Beautiful // Chapel Hill, N.C.

Something incredible and what can only be described as a "God moment" happened on Saturday. During my last senior shoot of the day, my group of grads wanted to take some pictures at UNC's arboretum. We got there and saw a ton of prom goers and their families. We walked to a less busy area near a waterfall and as I took some pictures, I noticed a small group of 5 gather near us but they didn't appear to be a prom group.

Then, all of the sudden their wedding ceremony began. I could feel the emotion a few yards away and knew God was calling me to go over to them. My seniors nudged me over and I quietly asked if they wanted any pictures. I was there just in time to capture their exchange of rings and first kiss. I hid my tears behind the lens as the bride cried and groom shook with nerves.

After connecting with the bride a few hours later, I came to learn that they have a big ceremony planned for September but the groom's health and need of a transplant led them to have this "last minute small thing" as she says. Brief but beautiful.
